Maqassa Documentation

What is Maqassa?

Maqassa is a non-custodial wallet for sending stablecoins (USDC) to anyone and cashing out at local merchants. It currently runs as a Telegram bot — no app downloads required.

How it works

1. Create a wallet

Open the Maqassa bot on Telegram and press Start. A wallet is automatically created for you on the Base network.

2. Top up

Buy USDC using your Visa, Mastercard, or bank transfer. The funds go directly into your wallet. Powered by trusted onramp partners.

3. Send

Pick a recipient by Telegram contact or email. Enter the amount. The transfer is instant, peer-to-peer, with zero fees.

4. Cash out

Your recipient finds a local merchant in our network, sends USDC to the merchant's wallet, and collects cash on the spot.

Security

Your keys, your funds

Maqassa is non-custodial — we never hold your funds. Your wallet exists on-chain and you are the sole owner.

Export your private key

You can export your wallet's private key at any time. If Maqassa were to shut down, your funds remain on-chain and are accessible via any compatible wallet (e.g. MetaMask, Rabby, or any EVM wallet).

Passkey-secured

Wallets are protected by biometric passkeys (Face ID, fingerprint). No seed phrases to write down or lose. Email recovery is available as a backup.

On-chain transparency

All transactions are verifiable on-chain. Your wallet address is yours — check balances and history on any block explorer like Basescan.

FAQ

Do I need crypto experience?

No. Sign up with Telegram, buy with your card, send to a contact name. No addresses, no gas — we handle everything.

What is USDC?

A digital dollar — 1 USDC = 1 USD. Issued by Circle and backed by real reserves.

Are there fees?

Zero transfer fees. Zero gas fees. Onramp providers may charge their own processing fee.

How does cash out work?

The recipient visits a merchant listed in the app, sends USDC to the merchant's address, shows a confirmation, and receives cash.

What if I lose my device?

Your passkey syncs via iCloud or Google account. On a new device you regain access to the same wallet. Protect your cloud account with 2FA.

What if Maqassa shuts down?

Your funds stay on-chain. Export your private key and import it into any compatible EVM wallet to access your funds.
